About Psychology:

The history of psychology is fascinating and shaped by diverse influences. The origins of psychology can be traced back to ancient Greek philosophers. Thinkers like Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle delved into questions about perception, the mind, and the soul.

Since then, much has happened.

Sigmund Freud, an Austrian neurologist, developed psychoanalysis as a theory to explore the unconscious and psychological conflicts. These approaches influenced clinical psychology and the treatment of mental disorders.

In the early 20th century, behaviorism emerged, led by psychologists like John B. Watson and B. F. Skinner. This approach focused on the objective observation of behavior and rejected the study of mental processes.

In the 1950s, humanistic psychology emerged through figures like Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow. This approach emphasized the importance of self-actualization and personal growth.

In the 1950s and 1960s, the cognitive revolution brought a shift in psychology. Researchers such as Jean Piaget and Ulric Neisser highlighted the significance of mental processes like thinking, perception, and problem-solving.

Today, psychology encompasses numerous trends, including clinical psychology, neurology, social psychology, developmental psychology, and many others. Research is conducted on various levels, from the biological basis of behavior to social and cultural influences.
